Here's what Sarah's students say:
I have been working with Sarah for months. In that time I have made steady progress. She has taught me an enormous amount about vocal production, & given me insight into my problem. Sarah has helped me more than anyone else I have ever worked with. I believe she can help anybody at any level.
She has an innate intuition that helps her guide her students towards whatever their goal may be. Sarah was born to do what she is doing! Without hesitation, I would recommend Sarah to anyone who is in need of any form of vocal training. ~Jason S., South Hadley, MA

Although I hadn't played flute in public for 25 years, Sarah prepped me well to perform a piece for Mothers Day. In just a few hours she arranged the music, improved my playing and coached me in performance. She is an exquisite musician and I highly recommend her. ~ Maureen R., Northampton

Sarah is a great teacher. She is creative, encouraging, and knowledgeable. Sarah always brings new exercises and interesting information to each lesson, she is flexible and willing to work with all music styles, and she is very supportive in helping me to progress through my particular challenging areas. ~ Sadie L., Northampton

I travel from Amherst, MA over the Coolidge bridge to work with Sarah. I love working with Sarah as I feel totally at ease with her. As a new singer who suffers from lack of self-confidence, Sarah helps me find my voice! I have improved with her skills and insights. As a barbershop singer who sings a lead in a quartet, I was not sure how it would be to work with someone not from the barbershop world. However, good singing is good singing and Sarah offers the techniques to develop my voice. Thank you, Sarah! ~Suzann S., Amherst, MA

I have been taking lessons from Sarah Clay for about 2 years. They started out as “singing lessons” (I sing in a church choir). I found them very helpful. But after a while, we learned that much of my struggle was due to a lack the ability to read music.
So we changed them to “music lessons”. There was a process of discovery; and Sarah guided me through it. Personally, I really like this flexibility and lack of rigidity in her style of teaching. My lessons are ongoing.
I find Sarah Clay, besides being highly knowledgeable in the field of music, to be a very nice, personable, and fun lady with whom to study music. ~Lou M., Southampton, MA
